By way of background, Pascal and Victorie are my maternal
great-great-great grandparents. I have done extensive research on the
New York clan and my belief that Victorie died in New York is based on
the fact that they are found in the 1850 census for the town of
Volney, NY (south of Oswego), along with sons Eli (age 14, Thomas (age
11), Joseph (age 1) and daughter Permelia (Amelia) - age 5 mos. This
census lists Pascal as "Paska" and Victorie as "Ruba", however I
believe these to be a language difference between the census
enumerator, since neither could speak English. "Ruba" could be the
census enumerator's impression of "Robillard", and "Paska" as
"Pascal". More importantly, the 1860 Oswego, NY census (second ward)
shows Pascal, wife Angeline, sons Thomas, Joseph and daughter Amelia.
Hence, it is my belief that sometime between 1850 and 1860, Victorie
died. I would be interested in learning your source of Victorie's
death in Cleveland. I do know his second wife, Angeline, died in
Cleveland. Speaking of Cleveland, I've not researched that angle and
could never figure why Pascal picked up and left Oswego so late in
life. I did attempt to find out where he and Angeline are buried, but
I'm getting conflicting information from Cleveland Catholic Cemeteries
and another Lavere (Levere - Lariviere) researcher suggests that they
may be buried separately. So, I have retained the services of the
Western Reserve Historical Society to explore the records of McGorray
Brothers Funeral Home, who handled both burials. Since Victorie is my
actual ggg-grandmother, I am more interested in her than Angeline. I
would appreciate your comments.

Michael & Mary emigrated to the USA in 1845. Came into US through New
