Amherst (Ohio) January 27th 1856
Dear Brother and Sister
it is with great pleasure that i take
my pen in hand to write a few lines to let you no
that we are all well at present and hope that these
few lines will find you the Sane i suppose you hav
had a letter from Delia by this time for She Said She
would write to you or i Should writing before
mother was confined to her bed 12 weeks where She Suffered
a great deel but She has left this world of pin
Sufferings She died on the 18th and was buried the the 20th
of this month Oh Julia She has left us She has
gon Thare is nothing in this world for me all
is gon. She died about 4 o clock in the after noon She
began to chock about 10 in the morning and chocked
to deat Jonathan has not come yet nor have we
heard from him yet Aunt Lois thinks she Shal
Stay here till the first of april i have not midup my mind
what i Shal do yet but i Shal not stay here Meary
is out to Heirums now if there is eny of
mothers things that you want you must write
i must bring my letter to a close So good
bye at present i remain your affectionate
