Walter J. Sopata passed away on January 13th, 2001 due to complications from a stroke. Walter was born on June 4th, 1915 to Tomas and Anna Sopata (Majkszak). He had four brothers - Tom, John, Joseph and Frank (all deceased). He married Josephine Ziemkiewicz (deceased). Walter served in World War II in the US Army from 1942 until 1946. Walter went to work for General Motors - Chevrolet, and retired as a proud Autoworker. Walter was a beloved uncle of eight, and a cherished great uncle. Visitation will be at the Rybicki & Son Funeral Home on Monday, January 15th, 2001 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Services are at 9:00 am Tuesday, January 16th, 2001, with a Catholic Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
